Work it Wednesday: Pleats

 Happy February!  It's another Work it Wednesday!  This week I'm trying pleats!  I remember I didn't like them when I was growing up...I actually hated pleats!  Most of it has to do with the fact that my Catholic school uniform had like a 100 pleats (the skirt).  Yuck!  Also, pleats were/are so difficult to iron!  Oh well!  These pleats look cuter than the ones I grew up with and...you know what?  I don't iron anymore!  I love my local cleaners!!!

Work it Wednesday: Jason Wu for Target

It's Wednesday!!!  A Work it Wednesday!!!!  If you're like me, you must be counting the days until the Jason Wu for Target collection hits the stores on February 5th!  I just love, love the all designers collections for Target.  I always try to buy at least one piece of each collection.  I already have my eye on this dress in particular.  I like that it's very figure flattering, dark enough for evening events, yet it has a little color for daytime occasions.  Also, I LOVE it's nautical vibe!  (I HEART all things nautical!).

Work it Wednesday: Little Red Dress

It's Wednesday!  I just bought myself a little red dress...  I think I'll wear it on Friday to a Holiday party.  Yes.  Holiday party.  Apparently, we're still celebrating the Holidays!  That's fine with me!  These are a few ideas on how I'd wear this dress.  I feel I'm getting out my comfort zone with this one.  I mean, it is RED!  For this same reason, I think the best way to go is to just let the dress make the outfit.  I'll try to keep accessories to a minimum.  I said I'll TRY!

Work it Wednesday: Pearls!

I have always liked pearls.  I mean, how can anyone not like pearls!  They're elegant, classic and timeless.  All women should own at least a pair of pearl earrings, even if they're just faux pearls...It doesn't matter, the look is the same...  This first look, is something I would totally wear to a lunch with girlfriends or maybe to dinner with my hubby.  Of course, it is also a great look for a doctor's appointment or a parent/teacher conference?...he, he!!!

This would make a perfect outfit on a cold MN night.  I'd wear this look  to a Holiday party, a housewarming party or a fancy restaurant.  I like it's elegant but also very comfortable at the same time.  Love, love, love it!!!

I know I posted about ankle boots a few weeks ago, but...I just got THESE boots this weekend!...I'm starting to buy things with a 'different' mentality...  In order for me to buy something, I have to think of at least three different ways I could style the piece...Words of wisdom from Kendi...  So, here are three more ways to style these!

We hosted a dinner party on Saturday night...this is how I styled my new boots...pearls and everything...I LOVE pearls, I love my new boots!!!

Work it Wednesday: Ankle Booties...

I soooooo want a pair of ankle booties!!!  As a matter of fact, it's on my tomorrow's to-do list...I'm serious!  I wrote 'buy ankle booties' and it's right under 'volunteering at my daughter's classroom'...that way I don't feel as guilty of buying yet another pair of shoes...

I hope I find them so I can wear them on Saturday night!  We have a dinner party and I'm thinking they will look cute paired with my new faux fur vest and skinny jeans.  I will post a picture this time!  I promise!
